This is only a Test!

I have decided to start a blog about my experience having a periacetabular osteotomy on my right hip.  I have already had one on my left hip and found there was not much information out there for people who have hip dysplasia and have to undergo a procedure such as this one.  When I decided to have a second procedure, I knew I wanted to document my experience for others to be reminded they are not alone, and to give my recovery some greater purpose and direction.  I am not an expert on the subject of hip dysplasia or all surgical procedures meant to correct this problem.  I intend only to record my own experience first handed, and to include any and all information I can collect about my situation.  This is only a test blog, I have never done this before!
I have dysplasia in both hips.  On August 14th 2008 I had an arthroscopic procedure on my right hip to clear out some torn cartilage in my hip socket.  On September 29th 2008 I had a periacetabular osteotomy on my left hip.  It took about 6 months of recovery for me to walk without assistance.  I have experienced chronic pain in my right hip for 2 years, and now I am scheduled to have my second periacetabular osteotomy on my right hip on July 9th 2009.  It is now July 6th 2009, and I have my pre surgical testing today.  I will have a variety of blood tests and an EKG.  My pre-op exam with my surgeon is July 8th.  More once the testing begins!
